Value Foundations of Educating Service Members of the National Guard of the Russian Federation to Counter Extremist Ideology

Abstract

Having conducted a theoretical analysis of relationship between value attitudes and service members’ readiness to counter extremist ideology, the author aims to identify intrinsic and substantive features of the process of educating members of the National Guard of the Russian Federation serving under contract to counter extremist ideology. The article focuses on works revealing relationship between value attitudes and service members’ readiness to engage in the activity, giving account of the models showing how a person adopts extremist ideology. Scientific novelty of the article lies in clarifying the personality structure of a service member from the standpoint of the axiological and person-activity approach. As a result, the author determines intrinsic and substantive features characterising the process of educating members of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, who perform their service on a voluntary enlistment basis, to counter extremist ideology.
