Mobile Technologies as a Means to Form Students’ Lexical Competence in Professional Linguistic Education

Abstract

Within the framework of the modern higher education paradigm, lexical competence is considered as a basis of the future specialist’s professional communicative competence. Mobile technologies can serve as a means to form lexical competence. The analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature shows that this issue is still insufficiently investigated. The authors examine the notion of lexical competence, describe the methodology of using mobile technologies to form students’ lexical competence and identify the basic advantages and shortcomings of using mobile technologies in professional linguistic education as perceived by teachers and students.
