Analysing Foreign Design Education (by the Example of Western Europe, the USA and China)

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to provide insight into the range of issues related to the quality of foreign design education, its advantages and systematicity, using the example of Western Europe, the USA and China. The paper gives a brief overview of the historical development of foreign design education over the period from the early XX century to the present day. Scientific novelty of the work lies in identifying the main advantage of foreign design education, i.e. the integration of design education in most developed countries and regional economies, close cooperation with public institutions. As a result, the researcher has concluded that foreign design education is aimed at solving practical tasks, forming project thinking in future designers and is implemented in relation to the needs of local and regional markets.
