Generating methodologically adapted audio content using artificial intelligence services for teaching foreign language listening to university students

Abstract

The aim of this study is to theoretically substantiate and develop a procedure for creating methodologically adapted audio content using artificial intelligence (AI) services to teach listening to university students. The article explores the didactic potential of AI services that allow for flexible control over audio material parameters and analyzes the stages of their integration into the teaching process. A step-by-step procedure is proposed, comprising the formulation of a didactic objective, AI-based text generation and pedagogical editing, speech synthesis with specified acoustic characteristics, and the embedding of the material into the conventional three-stage framework for working with audio texts. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development and theoretical grounding of this procedure, which ensures methodologically controlled creation of adaptive audio content while preserving the teacher’s leading role. The study theoretically substantiates that a methodologically guided application of AI establishes didactic conditions for learning differentiation, the gradual formation of listening skills, and the optimization of the teacher’s work.
