Active subtitling as a tool for developing the written and oral communication skills of Tourism and Hospitality students learning Spanish
Abstract
The article explores the didactic potential of active subtitling as a tool for developing the written and oral communication skills of Tourism and Hospitality students learning Spanish. The study aims to identify the pedagogical conditions that enable the effective integration of active subtitling into Spanish language instruction for non-language majors. The originality of the study lies in the design of a specialized set of active subtitling exercises tailored to the professional training needs of Tourism and Hospitality students, facilitating the systematic development of both receptive and productive language skills. The findings indicate that the regular use of active subtitling activities enhances listening comprehension, written transcription, spelling accuracy, intonational expressiveness, and professionally oriented communicative competence.
