Forming managerial competencies in a pedagogical master's program through the introduction of a specialized discipline "Designing the Managerial Process in Education"

Abstract

The aim of the research is to substantiate the necessity of forming managerial competencies in Master's degree students of pedagogical fields based on the introduction of a specialized discipline, "Designing the Managerial Process in Education," integrating the principles of General Management Theory and Systems Analysis. The article reveals the application of the principles of General Management Theory for solving the tasks of training managerial personnel in education. The scholarly novelty of the approach lies in the integration of universal laws of system management of various natures, adapted to the specifics of educational processes, into the educational process of pedagogical Master's programs. This ensures the formation of managerial competencies in Master's degree students, based not only on empirical experience, but also on proven principles of General Management Theory, which contributes to the effective application of a systematic approach to the management of educational organizations. As a result, a conceptual justification for the academic discipline "Designing the Managerial Process in Education," combining the methodological foundations of General Management Theory and Systems Analysis, has been developed. The experience of implementing the discipline at the Siberian Federal University has shown that the discipline contributes to the formation of a holistic understanding of the educational organization as a complex system and its management in Master's degree students. In particular, monitoring and analysis of feedback from Master's degree students, including those already working in the field of education, confirmed the practical value of the discipline. Respondents note that the application of acquired knowledge allows for more effective construction of management processes and making informed decisions based on Systems Analysis, especially in matters of resource allocation and feedback organization. The proposed approach contributes to the development of analytical and prognostic thinking, managerial decision-making skills, and a systematic approach to solving problems in the educational sphere.
